Another tourist route will appear in high-altitude Adjara – for travelers will be equipped with locations on mount Chiruhi in the shuakhev municipality. The height of mount Chiruhi is 2,050 meters above sea level. Currently, experts are developing a concept for the tourist development of this zone. After that, an infrastructure project will be prepared, as well as a plan for managing the tourist product. The government of Adjara allocated 200 thousand lari (more than 62 thousand us dollars) for the development and study of the potential of Chiruhi. The authorities of the Autonomous region have big plans for this location. It is expected that in the future, Chiruhi will be positioned as a "green zone", unaffected by the coronavirus epidemic. As you know, from June 15, internal tourism will open in Georgia, and from July 1, the country will start accepting travelers from abroad. The government relies on eco-tourism. Special importance is attached to the concept of "green zones" -recreation in Georgian resorts, where no cases of COVID-19 have been recorded. In 2019, family-type hotels, catering facilities, wine cellars and nature reserves of Adjara were visited by more than 238.6 thousand visitors. There are currently 15 marked routes in the region.
